This is a 3.7V 6000mAh Li-Polymer battery that replaces part number AHB965778 in the LeapFrog LF1726-2FHD and LF1726FHD baby monitor parent units. The parent unit is the handheld display caregivers carry while the camera transmits from the nursery. When the original battery degrades, the parent unit loses charge quickly or fails to hold a connection — this battery restores full wireless operation.
- LF1726-2FHD and LF1726FHD parent units: Both monitor variants use the same parent unit hardware, share the same voltage rail and connector configuration, and accept part number AHB965778. The BMS handshake is identical across both models, so one battery covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the parent unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, voltage stabilised at 3.7V nominal, and the unit held the wireless link to the camera unit throughout testing.
- Re-pair the camera after swapping the battery: A full power interruption to the parent unit clears its wireless link memory. After fitting this battery, hold the pair button on both the parent unit and camera unit until the link re-establishes — this is not a battery fault, it is standard behaviour for this monitor.
Parent unit battery draining overnight with the screen on
The LF1726 parent unit draws sustained current when the screen stays active overnight — the display, radio receiver, and IR decoder all run simultaneously. That combined load depletes even a fresh 6000mAh cell faster than standby-only use. The monitor has a screen timeout setting in the display menu that dims or turns off the LCD while keeping audio and alerts active. Enabling that timeout is the single most effective way to extend charge duration through a full night.
Night vision feed dropping out after battery replacement
The camera unit's IR LEDs draw a spike of current when night vision activates, and the parent unit's radio receiver needs stable voltage to decode that signal cleanly. If the replacement battery is not fully charged before first use, the cell voltage sits below the point where the radio handles that load without packet loss — the night vision feed stutters or drops entirely. Charge the parent unit to 100% before the first overnight session. Once the cell is at full voltage, night vision stability returns without any configuration change.
