Why the IdeaPad A3000 shuts down at 15–25% remaining
The A3000 runs a combined display-plus-WiFi load that draws enough current to create a sharp voltage sag near the low end of the discharge curve. When the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold under that load — even briefly — the tablet interprets it as a depleted cell and shuts down before the percentage indicator reaches zero. A new cell with full capacity reduces this sag because internal resistance is lower. After one full recalibration cycle, the fuel gauge maps the new discharge curve correctly and the early shutdowns stop.
IdeaPad A3000 reporting incorrect battery percentage after replacement
The fuel gauge IC on the A3000 board stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored map no longer matches actual cell behaviour, so the percentage reading drifts — often jumping or dropping unexpectedly.
