Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 Replacement Battery - Replaces L13D1P32

$28.74In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50, A8-50F, and A8-50LC tablets replacing OEM part L13D1P32.
  • 3.8V, 4200mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full capacity to the 8-inch display and WiFi radio.
  • Connector seats flush into the rear battery slot with single mechanical latch — no force needed.
  • We bench-tested with sustained WiFi load; BMS accepted charge curve without fault codes or thermal spike.
  • After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge calibration against the new cell and eliminates the inaccurate percentage display that appears after a swap.

About this replacement

Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L13D1P32)

This is a 3.8V, 4200mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50, A8-50F, and A8-50LC tablets. It replaces OEM part numbers L13D1P32 and L13T1P32. Rated at 15.96Wh, it fits the slim battery bay of the 8-inch A8-50 chassis without modification.

  • A8-50 variant coverage: The A8-50, A8-50F, and A8-50LC share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all three accept this cell without adapter or rewiring.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on the A8-50 platform. The BMS communicated cleanly with the charge IC, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at both the low-voltage floor and the thermal threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: Once installed, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force power-off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using it again. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance curve; one full cycle resets it against the new cell and corrects the percentage display.

Tab 2 A8-50 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the degraded original cell. The A8-50 pulls combined load from the display backlight and Wi-Fi simultaneously, which causes a sharp voltage sag. The charge IC interprets this sag as a low-voltage cutoff event and shuts the tablet down, even though the new cell has capacity remaining. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration and resolves the early cutoff.

Fast charging not available on the A8-50 after battery replacement

The A8-50 uses a proprietary charge negotiation handshake between the charge IC and the battery's BMS. On a fresh cell, the charge IC defaults to standard 5V input until one accepted charge cycle completes and the BMS registers the new cell's parameters. Plug in using the original Lenovo charger — not a third-party USB-C adapter — and allow the first charge to run uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the charge IC re-enters its normal negotiation state and full charge current resumes.
