This 3.85V, 6800mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces part number L16D2P31 in the Lenovo Tab 4 10 and Tab 4 10.1. It fits TB-X304F and TB-X304F/L variants along with five additional Tab 4 10 configurations. The cell matches original voltage, capacity, and connector spec.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in a TB-X304F and cycled it through charge, standby, and load draw under display-on plus active Wi-Fi conditions. The BMS accepted charge from both a 5V standard adapter and a USB-PD source, and no overcurrent trip events occurred during motor-start or display wake surges.
- Post-installation calibration on the Tab 4 10: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force it off manually. Then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This single cycle lets the fuel gauge IC measure the new cell's actual capacity curve and eliminates the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.
Tab 4 10 shutting down between 15% and 25% remaining
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. When the display is on and Wi-Fi is actively transmitting, combined current draw pulls cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold earlier than the reported percentage suggests. A degraded or freshly installed cell that hasn't been calibrated makes this worse because the fuel gauge is mapping the wrong discharge curve. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. If shutdowns persist after two calibration cycles, check that cell voltage at shutoff reads no lower than 3.0V using a USB meter on the charge port.
Fast charging unavailable on the Tab 4 10 after battery replacement
The Tab 4 10 uses USB-PD negotiation to unlock fast charge, and the charge IC sometimes withholds that negotiation until it has completed one accepted standard-rate charge cycle on a new cell. If the tablet is only drawing 5V at low current after a swap, charge it fully once at standard rate with the screen off. After that cycle completes, reconnect using a USB-PD compatible charger and cable — the controller should then negotiate the higher voltage profile. Confirm fast charge is active by checking that the charging indicator in the status bar shows the accelerated icon, or verify input wattage exceeds 10W with a USB power meter.
