This tablet draws simultaneous load from the display backlight, WiFi radio, and CPU when in active use — combined, these push current draw high enough to hit a voltage cliff in a degraded or uncalibrated cell. Fast charge not available after battery swap on ThinkPad 10 2nd Gen
The ThinkPad 10 2nd gen negotiates charge rate through the system board's charge IC, not through USB-PD alone. On first installation with a new cell, the charge IC defaults to a conservative rate until it completes one accepted charge cycle and confirms the pack's internal resistance profile. Run one full charge from below 10% to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the system board re-enables the higher charge rate for subsequent sessions.
