This 7.72V, 6400mAh (49.41Wh) Li-Polymer cell replaces the original L19L4P70 battery in the ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 1 series. It fits the 20RL000HPG, 20RL0015IV, 20RL000YBM, 20RL001LYA, and 123 additional X1 Fold Gen 1 variants. Same voltage, same connector, same BMS handshake as the factory cell.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after replacing the X1 Fold cell
The ThinkPad BIOS reads health data from the cell's EEPROM and compares it against the previous cell's logged cycle count and capacity history. A fresh cell has no accumulated data, so the BIOS flags it as degraded or unknown on first boot. This is a firmware interpretation issue, not a fault with the new cell. Run the battery learn cycle — full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — and the BIOS recalibrates against the new cell's EEPROM within two cycles.

The foldable display and CPU together draw peak current that a degraded or poorly calibrated cell cannot sustain at lower state-of-charge — voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. The fuel gauge IC is reading stored EEPROM data from the old cell, so its percentage estimate is wrong. Recalibrate by running the full discharge-to-hibernate cycle once, which forces the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's actual voltage curve. After that reset, the shutdown threshold should align to 5–8% remaining at approximately 6.0V under load.
