This forces the battery learn cycle to re-establish baseline capacity against the new cell and clears the warning on the next boot.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% remaining after battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. Under full CPU and display load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects, triggering a low-voltage shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The gauge needs two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles to re-map voltage curves against the new cell's actual capacity. After the third full cycle, the shutdown point should align with the displayed percentage accurately.
