Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. The Vibe X3 Lite's modem and display draw bursts of current that pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even when the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A new cell has a steeper discharge curve than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to, so the mismatch is worse on first install. Run one full discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference and the shutdowns typically stop.
Phone reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on the Vibe X3 Lite stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you install a new cell, the IC still references that old curve, so the percentage shown is inaccurate — often jumping several points or freezing near full. The fix is a forced recalibration: drain the phone fully until it shuts off on its own, then charge it to 100% in one unbroken session with the screen off. After this cycle, the IC maps its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual voltage range and percentage readings stabilise.
