LG 4NE1 / DB-230 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGLI-ABEM)
This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LG 4NE1 and DB-230 smartphones. It replaces OEM part number LGLI-ABEM. Fit this cell when the original no longer holds charge, causes unexpected shutdowns, or the phone refuses to power on.
- 4NE1 and DB-230 platform: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both. The voltage rail sits at 3.7V nominal, matching the charge IC on either board.

- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for your first complete discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC on the 4NE1 calibrates its internal model against the cell's discharge curve on that first run — letting it complete that cycle at standard current gives the coulomb counter accurate data before any high-current session.
Why the 4NE1 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual electrochemical behaviour of the replacement. The result is percentage readings that jump, stall, or read 100% long before the cell is actually full. One full discharge down to auto-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and brings readings back in line.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This happens because the modem radio and screen backlight draw a current spike the cell can't sustain when its actual voltage drops below roughly 3.5V — even though the OS gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve accurately, so it misreports usable capacity. The phone interprets the sudden voltage sag as a hard cutoff and shuts down. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles and the gauge recalibrates — shutdowns at false-high percentages should stop.
