Why this battery

  • Fits LG G Pad F2 8.0 and LTE models; replaces OEM part BL-T31 and EAC63398901.
  • 3.85V, 2900mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers full charge cycles to the 8-inch display.
  • Connector slides vertically into the battery slot; flat ribbon tab locks at the top.
  • We ran full discharge and charge cycles on a G Pad F2 8.0; BMS accepted new cell without fault codes.
  • After installation, discharge the tablet fully to shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — resets fuel gauge calibration against the new cell.

About this replacement

LG G Pad F2 8.0 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-T31)

This is a 3.85V, 2900mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the LG G Pad F2 8.0, G Pad F2 8.0 LTE, and LK460 tablets. It replaces OEM part BL-T31 (also listed as EAC63398901). Fit this battery when the original no longer holds a charge or the tablet shuts down unexpectedly under normal use.

  • G Pad F2 8.0 and LK460 compatibility: All three listed models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC protocol. The BL-T31 part number covers the full F2 8.0 range, including the LTE variant, because LG used a single battery specification across the lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on G Pad F2 hardware. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault, held voltage across the full discharge curve, and showed no cell rejection flags in the charge log.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force-power it off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a fixed reference point on the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a battery swap.

Why the G Pad F2 8.0 shuts down at 15–25% remaining

The G Pad F2 8.0 runs a combined display-plus-WiFi load that pulls sharply higher current than the tablet draws at idle. Under that combined load, voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge predicts. When cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold — even briefly — the tablet interprets it as empty and shuts down, regardless of the percentage shown on screen. This is a calibration gap between the old cell's discharge curve and the new cell, not a fault with the battery itself. One full discharge-to-cutoff and uninterrupted charge cycle resolves it.

Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement

If the tablet reverts to standard charging speed after a battery swap, the charge IC is negotiating a fresh USB-PD or Qualcomm protocol handshake against the new cell. On the first accepted charge cycle, the controller sets its current limits and charge profile for the replacement cell. Disconnect the charger once the tablet reaches 100%, leave it off the charger for two minutes, then reconnect — this forces a clean handshake. If fast charge still does not engage, confirm you are using the original LG charger, as third-party adapters may not transmit the correct charging protocol signal.
