LG G Pro 2 / G Vista — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-47TH)
This is a 3.8V, 3200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LG G Pro 2 and related variants including the D838, D837, and VS880 G Vista. It uses OEM part number BL-47TH and fits the original battery slot without modification. Capacity is rated at 12.16Wh.
- G Pro 2, D838, D837, VS880 compatibility: These models share the same 3.8V single-cell architecture, BL-47TH connector pin layout, and BMS communication protocol — that is why one cell covers all of them. The charge IC on each device negotiates with the battery over the same lines.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the G Pro 2 and VS880 G Vista. The BMS handshake completed on first insertion, the fuel gauge IC accepted the cell, and the charge IC held current within the expected taper curve to termination voltage.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This allows the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its reference points.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the G Pro 2 after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff under high screen or modem load, so the phone hits the hardware cutoff before the percentage counter reaches zero. The device shuts down even though the reported percentage looks safe. One full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current resets the coulomb counter reference and eliminates the premature cutoff.
Phone will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current to protect the cell from damage. Plugging in the charger normally shows no response. Connect to a wall adapter — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, after which normal charging resumes.
