LG G5 Mini / X5 Series — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-42D1FA)
This is a 3.85V, 2800mAh Li-ion cell built to the BL-42D1FA spec. It fits the LG G5 Mini, F770S, X5, and X5 4G LTE. Swap it when the original cell can no longer hold voltage under screen or modem load.

- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before fast-charge current is applied to an uncalibrated cell — preventing early percentage errors.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks brightness, current draw spikes and the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge expects. On a new, uncalibrated cell, the OS still reads 25% while the actual terminal voltage has already crossed the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold. One full discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the real discharge curve of the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks actual cell voltage accurately and early shutdowns stop.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks charge current to prevent damage. The phone will show nothing — no charging indicator, no boot screen. Connect to a wall adapter rated at 5V/1A or higher and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC applies a trickle recovery current that brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the device still shows no response after 30 minutes, check the charging cable and port for continuity before replacing the cell.
