This is a 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LG PH550 portable projector. It slots into the PH550's battery compartment and restores cordless operation when the original cell no longer holds charge. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.
- PH550 platform fit: The PH550 uses a dedicated battery bay with a proprietary connector and a BMS that handshakes with the projector's charge controller. This cell matches that connector pinout and communicates correctly with the onboard management circuit — the projector reads state-of-charge accurately and does not trigger false-empty shutdowns at the hardware level.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the PH550. Why the PH550 shuts off before the battery indicator reaches empty
The PH550's lamp requires a minimum supply voltage to sustain ignition — typically around 6.8–7.0V under load. As the Li-ion cell depletes, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under the lamp's current draw. The projector cuts the lamp before the battery indicator formally reads empty because the voltage under load has already dropped below the lamp's operating floor. Switching to eco mode reduces current draw and lowers the voltage sag, keeping the lamp alive longer into the discharge curve.
PH550 not charging — projector plugged in but battery percentage stays flat
The PH550's internal charger uses a CC-CV profile matched to a 7.4V Li-ion pack — if the replacement cell's protection circuit has tripped due to over-discharge, the charger may not deliver enough initial current to wake it. Remove the battery, leave it out for 60 seconds, reinsert it, then connect mains power with the projector switched off. If the charge indicator still does not activate after five minutes, check that the cell resting voltage is above 5.5V with a multimeter — below that threshold, the BMS may require a pre-charge pulse the internal charger cannot supply.
