LG VH851C Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (6910G00003A)
This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the LG VH851C cordless stick vacuum. It fits the VH851C, V-H851CP, and VH852CP models using OEM part number 6910G00003A. It restores cordless operation when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge.
- VH851C, V-H851CP, VH852CP compatibility: These three models share the same 7.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the VH851C platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the motor drew current within expected range across both hard floor and carpet modes.
- Dock charging habit on the VH851C: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. Ni-MH cells in this unit are susceptible to trickle-charge damage from continuous dock contact. Charge to full, then remove from the dock and store off the charger.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor pulls more current than the battery can deliver at its present state of charge, causing voltage to sag below the motor's operating threshold before the fuel gauge registers empty. On the VH851C, a partially blocked filter dramatically increases motor draw — the vacuum works harder, voltage sags earlier, and suction falls off while the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest. If sag continues with a clean filter on a new cell, measure open-circuit voltage — a healthy fully charged Ni-MH pack should read above 8.6V off the charger.
Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, clogged nozzle, or hair wrapped around the brush roll — the motor stalls against the blockage and current spikes. The BMS interprets that spike as a fault and cuts power to protect the cell. Waiting a few seconds lets the BMS reset, which is why the vacuum appears to recover on its own. Clear the blockage completely before the next run. If the cutout continues on a fully cleared machine, the fault is in the motor or brush roll bearing, not the battery.
