LG VX4500 / VX4510 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGLI-ADFM)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the LG VX4500 and VX4510 flip phones. It replaces OEM parts LGLI-ADFM, SBPL0069701, and SBPL0069901. If your original battery no longer holds a full day's charge, this is the direct swap.
- VX4500 and VX4510 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion rail with identical physical connectors and BMS handshake requirements. The same battery pack covers both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the VX4500 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V per cell.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, run the battery from full charge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The phone's fuel gauge IC calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve — one full cycle resets it to the new cell's actual capacity baseline.
Why the VX4500 shows wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The VX4500 uses a simple coulomb-counting fuel gauge that builds its percentage model from the original cell's discharge curve over time. When you install a new cell, that stored model no longer matches the actual chemistry in the pack. The phone reads voltage against an outdated map, so reported percentage drifts from real state of charge. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete uninterrupted charge corrects the calibration and brings the readout back into alignment.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell's resting voltage looks acceptable at low load but drops sharply the moment the phone's transmit circuit fires — a behaviour called voltage cliff. The fuel gauge shows 25% remaining, but under the brief current spike of a call or signal search, terminal voltage collapses below the BMS cutoff threshold and the phone powers off. It is not a faulty battery — it is the fuel gauge operating against an uncalibrated curve. Run one full discharge-charge cycle and the shutdowns stop once the gauge learns the new cell's actual low-voltage floor.
