LG Watch Urbane Edition LTE — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-S6)
This is a 570mAh, 3.85V Li-Polymer cell that replaces the BL-S6 battery in the LG Watch Urbane Edition LTE smartwatch. It fits the original battery bay directly and connects to the same flex ribbon connector. Capacity matches the factory spec at 570mAh (2.19Wh).
- Watch Urbane Edition LTE fitment: The LTE variant of the Urbane uses a slightly larger cell than the standard Urbane — the BL-S6 is specific to this model. Fitting a standard Urbane battery will leave a gap and cause connector misalignment. Verify the BL-S6 part number on the original cell before ordering.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the LG Watch Urbane LTE BMS handshake. The protection circuit accepted the cell without a fault flag, and the fuel gauge IC initialised correctly after a full charge cycle from near-zero.
- Post-swap charge requirement: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use. The fuel gauge IC cannot calibrate accurately without a full charge cycle from near-zero following a cell swap — skipping this step causes the battery percentage to report incorrectly for days.
LTE radio draw on the BL-S6 cell
The LTE modem in this watch is the single largest current draw on the BL-S6 — significantly more than the heart rate sensor or display. When the watch loses LTE signal and hunts for a tower, current draw spikes repeatedly and can pull the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff faster than expected. Keeping the watch within LTE coverage and disabling LTE when not needed keeps the cell voltage stable. A new cell will handle these spikes better than a degraded one, but the physics of the LTE radio do not change.
Watch shows 0% and won't respond after battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC lost its reference point when the original cell was disconnected. The IC reads the new cell's open-circuit voltage as indeterminate and defaults to 0%, then refuses to boot to protect the cell. The fix is straightforward — connect the watch to its charger immediately after reassembly and leave it charging without interruption until it reaches 100%. Once the IC completes a full charge cycle, it resets its reference and the watch boots normally at the correct percentage.
