This is a 4.8V, 2000mAh Ni-MH backup battery for the LUPUS XT1 PLUS wireless alarm control panel. It slots into the panel to maintain security monitoring and alert functions when mains power is lost. OEM part number 12190 confirms direct fit.
- XT1 PLUS backup rail: The XT1 PLUS runs its wireless receiver, siren output, and tamper circuits from a single 4.8V Ni-MH cell. The panel's charge controller expects this specific cell count and voltage profile — swapping to a different voltage or chemistry trips the low-battery fault and prevents float charging from completing.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through discharge and float charge on the XT1 PLUS panel. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, the charge controller moved from bulk to float within the expected window, and no false low-battery events appeared after the 48-hour conditioning period.
- Post-swap zone test timing: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. Running diagnostics on a partially charged cell causes the panel to flag low battery mid-test — the cell is fine, the charge just hasn't completed yet.

The XT1 PLUS charge controller uses a voltage threshold to determine battery state. A fresh Ni-MH cell arrives partially discharged from storage — its resting voltage sits below the panel's "battery OK" threshold until float charging is complete. This is not a fault with the cell. Leave the panel on mains power for 48 hours, and the low-battery indicator will clear once the cell reaches approximately 5.4–5.6V at float.

If the panel drops its zone programming during a power cut shortly after a battery swap, the replacement cell had not yet been accepted by the charge controller. The panel needs a fully conditioned cell — not just one that has been sitting in the panel for an hour. Run the panel on mains for 48 hours before testing backup operation. After that conditioning window, the cell holds enough charge to sustain the control panel's memory and active circuits through a mains interruption.
