Why the Prestige Touch 2 parent unit drains overnight with the screen on
Leaving the parent unit display active through the night is a sustained draw that the 2000mAh cell was not sized to handle across 8–10 hours of continuous use. The screen backlight and the 2.4GHz radio module both pull current simultaneously during that window. The Prestige Touch 2 has a screen timeout setting in the display menu — activating it drops the overnight draw significantly by killing the backlight between sound alerts. Set the timeout to the shortest interval that still wakes the screen on audio trigger.
Parent unit range drops noticeably after a battery swap
The 2.4GHz radio transmitter in the parent unit is voltage-sensitive — at partial charge, the radio runs at reduced output power, which shortens the effective range between parent and camera. This is not a fault with the replacement cell; it is the radio's behaviour at sub-nominal voltage. Charge the new battery to full before testing range. A fully charged 3.7V cell should restore range to the same level as the original battery in good condition.
