LXE VX9 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (162328-0001)
This is an 11.1V 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the LXE VX9 handheld mobile computer. It fits the VX9 directly using OEM part number 162328-0001. The VX9 is a rugged enterprise scanner used in warehouse pick-and-pack and retail inventory workflows.
- VX9 platform fit: The VX9 draws power across three simultaneous loads — the barcode imager, the wireless radio, and the touchscreen backlight. All three share the same 11.1V rail. This pack matches that rail exactly, so the BMS communicates with the device without calibration errors or false low-battery warnings.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst sequences on the VX9 bench unit. The BMS held the discharge floor without nuisance trips during combined imager and radio inrush events. Capacity measured at 2600mAh across three full cycles.
- First-shift conditioning on the VX9: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before deploying it on a shift. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack on day one prevents false BMS cutoffs during the first pick cycle.

LXE cradles read pack state through the dock contacts before initiating the charge cycle. If contact resistance is too high — from oxidation, dust, or an incomplete seat — the dock flags an error instead of charging. This is not a fault with the battery cell itself. Wipe the gold contact pads on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and the error clears at under 0.5Ω contact resistance.

During a fast scan sequence, the VX9 pulls current simultaneously from the imager and the 802.11 radio. That combined inrush can cause a momentary voltage sag on a partially depleted pack, which the radio module interprets as a power fault and drops the connection. A pack below roughly 10.5V under load is the usual trigger point. Charge the pack above 11.0V resting voltage before a high-throughput shift to keep the radio stable.
