This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part 37-00029-001 in the Magellan RoadMate 3000, 3000T, 3050T, and 3100, plus five additional RoadMate variants. It fits the same connector and battery bay as the factory cell. Capacity figure is from our product data — 2200mAh / 8.14Wh.

The battery management system communicates charge state over the same two-wire interface across all variants in the lineup, so one cell covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a RoadMate unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, balanced charge terminated correctly at 4.2V, and the low-voltage cutoff triggered at the expected 3.0V threshold with no anomalies.
- Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After any full power removal, the GPS receiver loses its ephemeris data and must perform a cold start. Take the unit outdoors with a clear sky view and power it on before driving. First satellite fix typically takes 5–10 minutes; subsequent warm starts resolve in under a minute once the almanac is rebuilt.
GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the RoadMate 3000
When the cell voltage drops toward 3.3V, some RoadMate units reduce GPS receiver sensitivity to protect available power for the display and processor. This shows up as position drift or a wider accuracy circle on screen. It is not a signal obstruction problem — it is a power management response. Replacing a degraded cell that sags under load eliminates this behaviour because the new cell holds voltage above the threshold during normal navigation.
RoadMate 3000 shutting off without a low-battery warning
The battery indicator on the RoadMate 3000 reads state of charge from voltage, not a fuel gauge IC. An aged cell that sags under the display and GPS load can drop from an apparent 30% charge reading to the cutoff threshold of 3.0V in seconds. The result is an abrupt shutdown with no prior warning. After fitting a new cell, recalibrate the indicator by running one full discharge cycle — navigate until the device shuts off, then charge uninterrupted to 4.2V before use.
