Why the Airflo 24 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The Airflo 24's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold calibrated to a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell has not yet established its full electrochemical baseline, so the BMS may flag it as under-threshold even when the charger reports complete. This is not a faulty battery. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle and the BMS will recalibrate its internal reference to match the new cell's actual capacity profile.
Airflo 24 failing to power on after the battery has been in storage
Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if voltage drops below the BMS recovery threshold, the device will not power on at all — the protection circuit blocks current draw entirely. Connect the battery to the charger for a full charge cycle before attempting to power on the unit. Most BMS circuits on this class of device require the cell to reach at least 22V before the protection gate opens. Do not attempt repeated power-on presses before charging — this does not assist recovery and can deepen the discharge state.
