This 3.8V 3900mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original AHB466684 cell in the Meder SmartGuide 2 and SmartGuide 210-464 smartphones. It restores power to the display, processor, modem, and all onboard connectivity. Dimensions are 85.20 × 63.50 × 4.50mm — measure your original cell before installing to confirm fit.
- SmartGuide 2 and 210-464 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SmartGuide platform. The BMS accepted the cell, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and protection cut-off activated as expected at the low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SmartGuide 2 after cell replacement
This is a voltage cliff failure. Under modem transmission or screen brightness peaks, the new cell momentarily drops below the BMS low-voltage threshold even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The OS doesn't see the voltage drop in time — the BMS cuts power before a clean shutdown. Running one full discharge to automatic cutoff, then a full charge without fast charging, teaches the coulomb counter where the real voltage floor sits and eliminates most spontaneous shutdowns.
SmartGuide 2 shows erratic or jumping battery percentage after swap
The fuel gauge IC in the SmartGuide 2 stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell with a different internal impedance profile makes the IC's estimates unreliable — percentage can jump 10–15 points in either direction. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge from 100% to automatic shutoff, followed by a full charge to 100%. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets its reference points against the actual cell and percentage reporting stabilises.
