This happens when the motor draws higher current than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling more amps from the battery than the BMS expects under normal load. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest — if suction holds steady, the battery was not the fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction — a blockage in the brush head, hose, or a clogged filter — forces the motor to spike above the cell's continuous current limit, the BMS cuts output to prevent cell damage. It resets automatically once the draw drops. Clear any blockage, check the filter, and restart. If it trips again on a clear machine, verify cell voltage at the battery terminals — it should read between 21V and 24.6V at rest.
