The fix is one full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge, which forces the coulomb counter to resync. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.
X4701 not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells that drop below approximately 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to the power button and shows no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC on the motherboard will trickle current into the cell until it clears the lockout threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the phone still shows no sign of life after 45 minutes on a wall charger, check that the flex connector is fully seated.
