BMS cutoff on drill motor-start inrush surge
When you pull the trigger on a drill or impact driver, current spikes sharply in the first milliseconds before the motor reaches speed. A new pack — especially one coming out of storage — can have a stiff BMS that interprets this inrush as an overcurrent fault and shuts the pack down immediately. The fix is to run two or three short, low-load cycles first so the BMS accumulates inrush data and widens its fault threshold. After conditioning, the pack should sustain full trigger pulls without cutting out.
Charger not recognising the pack after extended storage
Li-ion packs stored for several months can drop below 2.5V per cell — the minimum voltage most chargers need to begin a charge cycle. If the charger blinks red or shows no activity, the pack has likely self-discharged past the charger's acceptance threshold. Some Meister Craft chargers have a recovery or "boost" mode — check the charger manual for a reset sequence, usually a long press or a specific light pattern. If cell voltage has dropped below 2.0V per cell, recovery is not possible and the pack should be replaced.
