Microsoft Surface Book 2 15Inch Replacement Battery - Replaces DYNH01

$39.86In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Microsoft Surface Book 2 model 1793 15-inch tablet; replaces OEM part DYNH01.
  • 7.57V, 3000mAh lithium-polymer cell powers the detachable display component reliably.
  • Connector is proprietary Microsoft dock interface; orientation locks into tablet slot firmly.
  • We bench-tested the DYNH01 against a failed original cell; BMS accepted full charge cycle without fault codes.
  • After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell.

About this replacement

Microsoft Surface Book 2 1793 15-inch — 7.57V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (DYNH01)

This is a 7.57V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the tablet component of the Microsoft Surface Book 2 1793 15-inch. It fits the detachable clipboard section of the Surface Book 2 1793 series — not the keyboard base. OEM part number DYNH01.

  • Surface Book 2 1793 tablet clipboard fit: The Surface Book 2 splits into two battery systems — the tablet clipboard carries the DYNH01 cell at 7.57V, while the keyboard base uses a separate pack. This battery covers the clipboard unit only. Voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake all match the 1793 15-inch clipboard spec.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on a Surface Book 2 1793 clipboard. The BMS accepted the cell, negotiated charge current without fault flags, and the firmware reported capacity within normal range after one full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: The Surface Book 2 clipboard stores charge history in the fuel gauge IC against the previous cell. After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. Skipping this step causes the percentage display to read inaccurately from the first charge.

Why the Surface Book 2 clipboard shuts down at 15–20% remaining

The clipboard's display and Wi-Fi draw simultaneous load that causes a voltage dip near the low end of the discharge curve. When cell voltage drops sharply under combined load, the BMS interprets this as a low-voltage cutoff condition and triggers shutdown before the reported percentage reaches zero. This is more pronounced on an aged or freshly installed cell that has not yet been calibrated. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% corrects the fuel gauge reference and reduces premature shutoffs.

Surface Book 2 showing a different charge percentage after battery swap

Windows reads charge state from the fuel gauge IC, which stores calibration data tied to the previous cell's discharge curve. After a battery swap, that stored data no longer matches the new cell, so the reported percentage drifts — often reading higher or lower than actual charge state. The fix is a single full recalibration cycle: discharge the clipboard to automatic shutoff, then charge without interruption to 100%. After that cycle, the fuel gauge resets its reference to the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises.
