About this replacement
Mindeo CS3260 / CS3290 / CS2290 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 1900mAh Li-ion cell fits the Mindeo CS3260, CS3290, and CS2290 handheld barcode scanners. It replaces the original pack when capacity has faded or the battery no longer holds a charge. Slot it into the same battery bay — no tools required.
- CS3260 / CS3290 / CS2290 platform fit: These three Mindeo scanner models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and connector orientation. The BMS handshake protocol is consistent across the range, so one cell covers all three without any firmware mismatch.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the CS3260 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held the low-voltage cutoff at the correct threshold, and the scanner returned accurate scan reads throughout the test cycle.
- First-shift pre-charge on the CS3260: After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum, and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
A new cell shipped in a partially discharged state can confuse the cradle's charge controller if contact resistance is high. Dust or oxidation on the battery terminals is usually the cause — the dock sees an intermittent connection and logs a fault. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle bay with a dry cloth before reseating. Once contact resistance drops, the charging cycle initiates correctly and the error clears.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan sequence, the imager and the wireless radio draw current simultaneously. If the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio drops its connection before the scanner logs a low-battery warning. This is more common late in a shift when the cell is below 50% charge. Return the scanner to the cradle for a partial top-up charge, then resume — voltage sag disappears once the cell is above 3.6V under load.
