Mindray BeneHeart R3 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI13S001A)
This 11.1V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Mindray BeneHeart R3 and R3A defibrillators, as well as the uMEC10 patient monitor. It matches the original cell format, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol used across this platform.
- BeneHeart R3 / R3A / uMEC10 platform fit: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell architecture, physical housing, and BMS handshake logic. One pack covers all of them. Alternate OEM references include 022-000122-00 and 115-037896-00 — all point to the same cell configuration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the BeneHeart R3 charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell stack without fault codes. The charge IC brought cells to balance before reporting full charge, which took longer on the first cycle than subsequent ones.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BeneHeart platform runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a false battery fault that sticks until the next clean reboot.
BeneHeart R3 self-test failure after battery swap
The BeneHeart R3 runs an automated self-test that includes a battery capacity check against a stored BMS threshold. A new cell that has not completed one full charge-discharge cycle may report a state-of-charge figure the device treats as marginal. The BMS on this platform uses a learn cycle to calibrate capacity — until that cycle runs, the reported value is an estimate. Run one complete charge from flat to full before putting the device into clinical service.
Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge
On first charge, the BeneHeart R3 charge IC applies a conservative current limit while the BMS characterises the new cell stack. This causes the charge indicator to plateau — often between 85–95% — for an extended period before the final top-off completes. This is normal behaviour and resolves after the first full cycle. Leave the device on charge uninterrupted until the indicator reaches 100% and the charge LED changes state.
