A new cell with no cycle history has no profile, so the BMS applies a conservative limit and may flag a fault even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a defect in the replacement cell. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle outside clinical use, and the BMS will build a baseline profile that clears the fault condition on subsequent charges.
MEC-1000 will not power on after battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. If this battery sat in a warehouse or storage room for several months before installation, its resting voltage may have dropped below the MEC-1000 BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for an 11.1V three-cell pack. The BMS will refuse to initiate a charge cycle or boot the device when the cell voltage is below this floor. Connect the monitor to mains power and leave it for 30–60 minutes; most charge ICs include a trickle pre-charge stage that recovers cells down to approximately 2.5V per cell before handing off to the main charge cycle.
