Why the Umec10 reports a battery fault after a confirmed full charge
The Umec10's BMS stores a learned capacity profile from the previous cell. When a new battery is installed, the BMS compares measured cell behaviour against that stored baseline. On the first cycle, the new cell's internal resistance and discharge curve differ enough from the OEM baseline to trigger a threshold mismatch. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before clinical deployment — after that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its internal registers to the new cell's actual curve and the fault clears.
Umec10 failing to power on after battery was stored before installation
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery sat long enough to drop below approximately 9V, the Umec10's BMS will block the power-on sequence entirely — it reads the low cell voltage as a fault condition, not a depleted charge state. Connect the device to mains power first and leave it on charge for at least two hours before attempting to boot. Once the cells recover above the BMS recovery threshold, the device will start normally.
