Why the MA-101B audio clips and distorts before the battery indicator reads empty
The MA-101B amplifier stage needs a stable voltage rail to deliver clean output. As a Li-ion pack ages, internal resistance rises, and the cell voltage sags under the combined draw of the amplifier and wireless receiver. The BMS still reports the pack as partially charged, but the actual delivered voltage drops low enough that the amp clips before the fuel gauge hits empty. Replacing the pack restores the voltage headroom the amplifier needs and eliminates clipping at normal volumes.
Speaker shows full charge but audio drops out after extended play
This is a capacity fade symptom caused by shallow-cycle degradation — the pack was repeatedly topped off before dropping below 50%, and the usable cell capacity has shrunk. The indicator shows full because the BMS is calibrated to a cell it no longer accurately tracks. The speaker cuts out not because charge is gone, but because the remaining capacity is too small to sustain amplifier draw through a full session. A full discharge-to-recharge cycle on the new pack resets the fuel gauge baseline and restores accurate state-of-charge reporting.
