The MA-505 generates heat from two sources at once — the Class D amplifier stage and the Li-ion cells discharging under load. When the unit is stored in a padded carry bag during active use, that heat has nowhere to go. Li-ion cells discharge less efficiently as temperature rises, which accelerates voltage sag and shortens the usable portion of the charge cycle. Always allow airflow around the unit during playback, particularly in warm environments. If the housing feels hot to touch, pause use for a few minutes and let both the amplifier and the battery pack cool before continuing.
