Suction dropping before the R750 battery indicator shows low
On the R750, suction loss often happens at normal battery charge levels and has nothing to do with remaining capacity. A partially blocked filter forces the brush and suction motors to draw more current than rated, which causes voltage to sag under load even from a healthy battery. The BMS interprets the sag as low charge and reduces power output. Clear the filter first — if suction restores, the battery was not the issue. If sag continues on a clean filter, the cell has lost capacity and voltage is dropping below 11.5V under load.
R750 motor cuts out mid-run then recovers after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the R750 drives over a rug transition or encounters a tangle, the brush motor current spikes sharply. If the spike exceeds the BMS threshold — typically triggered by sustained restricted rotation, not a momentary spike — the BMS cuts power to protect the cells. The robot pauses, the BMS resets, and the unit resumes. If this happens repeatedly on clean flooring with no obstruction, check that the replacement battery's BMS trip threshold matches the original spec; an undersized cell will trip on normal carpet load.
