About this replacement
Moulinex MX466301/2D0 Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (RS-AC3568)
This is a 6V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Moulinex cordless handheld vacuum models MX466301/2D0 and MX466301/2D1. It replaces OEM part RS-AC3568 and slots directly into the battery compartment of both variants. Capacity is 2000mAh (12Wh), matching the original specification.
- MX466301/2D0 and /2D1 compatibility: Both models run the same 6V cell format and share an identical connector and bay geometry. The battery chemistry — Ni-MH — is consistent across both variants, so one cell covers the full production run without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the MX466301 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the stock charger without fault codes, and the motor drew current within normal operating range across multiple discharge cycles.
- Dock charging practice for Ni-MH cells: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums lose capacity faster under continuous trickle charge than any other usage pattern. Charge fully, then remove from the dock until the next use cycle.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reads low
Ni-MH cells show a gradual voltage sag under load as they age, but the indicator circuit reads resting voltage — not load voltage. The motor pulls harder when the filter is partially blocked, which accelerates the voltage drop mid-clean. That drop registers as weak suction even though the indicator still shows charge. Clean the filter before assuming the battery is at fault; a restricted airway raises motor draw and triggers premature sag.
Motor cutting out and recovering during use
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the filter or intake is partially blocked, the motor works against resistance and briefly exceeds the current threshold the BMS permits. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets once load drops. Clear the filter and check the intake path for debris. If the cut-outs stop after cleaning the filter, the battery is functioning correctly.
