Why the GS63 BIOS reports poor health immediately after a cell swap
The GS63 EC stores charge history in EEPROM tied to the original cell's chemistry fingerprint. When a new cell goes in, that stored data no longer matches, so the EC flags health as degraded. This is a data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the learn cycle and clears the warning.

Under full CPU and GPU load, the slim 11.4V Li-Polymer cell hits a voltage cliff earlier than the fuel gauge IC predicts from its stored capacity model. The EC sees terminal voltage drop below the cutoff threshold and forces a shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. This happens most often during GPU-intensive sessions where draw spikes beyond what the aged calibration model expects. Run two full discharge-to-100% cycles to give the fuel gauge IC enough data to recalibrate — after that, the shutdown threshold and displayed percentage should align to within 5%.
