This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Navigon 7210 and 7310 portable GPS navigators. It replaces the original internal battery when the device no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. Capacity matches the OEM specification at 5.92Wh.
- 7210 and 7310 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and voltage rail. The 71.82 × 50.36 × 4.32mm cell fits the housing without modification, and the BMS communicates charge state to the device firmware identically across both models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a 7210 unit. The BMS held the charge cutoff at 4.2V and triggered low-voltage protection at 3.0V without false cutoffs mid-session.
- First power-on after fitting: After installing this cell, take the device outdoors and power it on before driving. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption. First satellite acquisition typically takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back to under a minute once almanac data is cached.
GPS accuracy reduced as battery charge drops on the 7210
The Navigon 7210 receiver draws more current when signal conditions are weak — urban canyons, heavy tree cover, or tunnels. At low battery, the device reduces receiver sensitivity to conserve power. This causes the position marker to jump or drift even on roads you've driven before. Keep the cell above 3.5V during active navigation to maintain full receiver sensitivity.
Navigon 7210 shuts off without warning before the battery icon shows empty
A new cell has a different discharge curve than the aged battery the device firmware calibrated against. The voltage-threshold that triggers shutdown can be hit before the on-screen indicator reflects it. This appears as a sudden power-off with the battery icon still showing one bar. Run two or three full charge and discharge cycles to let the firmware re-read the actual discharge curve — unexpected shutoffs typically stop after that.
