The iCN series stores certain user data — saved routes, favourites, and some POI lists — in battery-backed RAM rather than flash memory. Before removing the old battery, export any saved routes to the SD card via the device's data management menu — that copy survives the swap.
iCN 510 shutting off without a low-battery warning
After fitting a new cell, the fuel gauge on the iCN platform is uncalibrated — it still reads state-of-charge against the worn discharge curve of the old battery. The device's low-battery indicator can trigger late or not at all, and the unit hits the BMS undervoltage cutoff (around 3.0V) with no visual warning. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles to let the gauge recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve. After that, the warning indicator should appear at the correct threshold again.
