This is a 14.4V 6800mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Neato Botvac Connected range of robotic vacuum cleaners. It fits the Botvac Connected, Botvac Connected D3, Botvac Connected D5, Botvac D3 Connected, and over 27 additional models in the same series. Drop-in swap — same voltage, same capacity, same connector orientation as the original 945-0225 cell.
- Botvac Connected platform fit: These models share a common 14.4V power rail, BMS handshake protocol, and physical connector. One battery spec covers the full lineup because Neato standardised the cell format across the Connected generation — D3, D5, and base Connected units all draw from the same battery architecture.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Botvac Connected unit. The BMS negotiated correctly, charge acceptance was normal, and no overcurrent trips occurred under sustained motor load on both hard floor and carpet test runs.
- Dock charging habit on robotic vacuums: Do not leave the Botvac sitting on the charging dock indefinitely between cleaning sessions. Continuous trickle charging accelerates capacity fade in lithium cells faster than periodic charge cycles do. Charge to full, let it run, then return it to dock only when depleted.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This is one of the most common complaints on Botvac Connected units and it is almost never the battery alone. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder to maintain airflow and draws more current than the BMS expects under normal load. The BMS reads this elevated draw as a low-state-of-charge condition and begins throttling motor speed early. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction holds through a full cycle after that, the battery is not the root cause.
Botvac motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a full battery failure. It triggers when the motor sustains a restricted-suction draw long enough for the protection circuit to cut power as a thermal or current safeguard. The unit recovers once the BMS resets — usually within a few seconds. Clear the brush roll of hair and debris, check the filter for restriction, then verify pack voltage at the terminals sits above 14.0V before ruling out a degraded cell.
