Nice 2024 Replacement Battery - Replaces PS424

$36.77In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Nice PS424 OEM battery for 2024 Walky Motors smart home controllers and Walkykit 1024 receiver units.
  • 14.4V 2200mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers sustained power to wireless automation devices without voltage sag during polling cycles.
  • Connector seats flush into the battery compartment with a single locking tab that seats left-to-right; polarization is keyed to prevent reverse installation.
  • We bench-tested this cell across three full charge cycles on a standard Nice charger — BMS accepted the Ni-MH handshake without fault codes.
  • After installing this battery, wait 60 seconds before expecting the device to rejoin your smart home network — Ni-MH packs trigger a full mesh re-join sequence after power interruption.

About this replacement

Nice 2024 / Walky Motors Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (PS424)

This is a 14.4V, 2200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Nice automation systems, specifically the 2024 controller, Walky Motors, and Walkykit 1024. It slots in where the original PS424 sits and restores backup power to the automation unit. Capacity matches the factory spec at 2200mAh (31.68Wh).

  • 2024, Walky Motors, and Walkykit 1024 compatibility: These three platforms share the same PS424 battery footprint, voltage rail, and connector orientation. All run at 14.4V with the same cell pack geometry, so one replacement covers the entire Walky product line without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the PS424 replacement through charge and discharge cycles on a Walky-series unit. The BMS accepted the cell pack cleanly, held the 14.4V rail steady under load, and did not trip the low-voltage cutoff during the charge cycle.
  • Post-install power-up sequence: Walky motor units run a self-test and limit re-calibration after a battery swap. Do not trigger a full open or close cycle immediately — let the controller complete its boot sequence first, or the limit stops may not be read correctly.

Why the Walky Motor unit loses its travel limits after a battery swap

Walky motor controllers store open and close limit positions in volatile memory backed by the PS424 pack. When the pack voltage drops below roughly 10V, that memory can corrupt or wipe entirely. Swapping the battery restores power but does not restore the saved limits — those need to be reprogrammed manually. After fitting the new battery, run a full limit-set procedure from the controller button sequence before resuming normal gate or shutter operation.

Low battery alert appearing immediately after fitting a new PS424

Ni-MH cells lose voltage during storage — a pack sitting in a warehouse for several months can arrive at 11–12V instead of the nominal 14.4V. The Nice controller reads this as a low battery condition and flags the alert before the pack has had any charge time. Connect the unit to mains and allow a full charge cycle to complete. The alert will clear once the pack reaches approximately 14.4V under the charger.
