NiKon 1 V2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EN-EL21)
This is a 7.4V, 1400mAh Li-ion replacement for the EN-EL21 battery used in the NiKon 1 V2 mirrorless camera. It powers the sensor, autofocus system, and electronic viewfinder at the same voltage and capacity as the original cell. A direct fit for the 1 V2 body with no modification required.

Why the 1 V2 battery indicator drops faster during continuous video than stills
The 1 V2 draws significantly more current during video recording than single-frame stills. The sensor runs continuously, the processor handles real-time encoding, and the EVF stays active throughout — combined, these loads pull more current than the shot-count spec assumes. The EN-EL21's 1400mAh capacity is rated against a standard stills cycle, not sustained video draw. If you shoot video frequently, carry a second cell rather than relying on a single charge.
Battery percentage jumping or resetting to 100% mid-shoot on a new cell
This happens when the 1 V2 BMS hasn't mapped the new cell's discharge curve yet. The camera uses voltage thresholds to estimate remaining capacity — a fresh cell that hasn't been calibrated can read incorrectly because its resting voltage sits outside the camera's stored reference points. Run one complete charge-to-full, shoot until the camera gives a low-battery warning, then recharge fully. After that cycle, the percentage display should track the actual charge state accurately. If it still jumps, repeat the cycle once more before assuming a fault.
