Northern Virgo — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NT-L14S1P-PA)
This is a 14.8V, 2600mAh (38.48Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Northern Virgo portable medical device. It replaces OEM part numbers NT-L14S1P-PA, NT-LI4S1P-PA, 022-000069-00, and 022.01.000069-00. The battery restores power to the Virgo unit when the original cell depletes or fails.
- Virgo platform compatibility: All four OEM part numbers listed map to the same 14.8V four-cell lithium-ion configuration used across Virgo variants. The connector, BMS handshake protocol, and voltage rail are identical across these part numbers — swapping between them does not require firmware changes or calibration steps.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Virgo's full charge-discharge sequence and monitored BMS communication at each stage. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination and low-voltage cutoff without triggering false fault flags.
- Power-on self-test after installation: After fitting this battery, allow the Virgo to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. Medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and cutting power mid-sequence can register a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The Virgo runs a BMS handshake during startup to verify cell chemistry and state of charge. A new replacement cell that has partially self-discharged during storage can report a state-of-charge value the device interprets as a fault, stalling the boot sequence before it completes. Charge the battery fully before the first boot — the charge IC applies a conservative limit on new cells, so the first charge cycle may stop short of 100% on the indicator. After one complete charge-discharge cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the boot sequence proceeds normally.
Low battery alarm triggering immediately after a confirmed full charge
This alarm fires when the BMS self-test threshold is set against OEM cell chemistry parameters, and a new replacement cell hasn't yet passed a conditioning cycle. The Virgo's charge IC reads internal resistance during startup — a fresh cell out of storage shows higher impedance than a cycled one, which the device flags as low capacity even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle the impedance reading drops into the accepted range and the alarm clears at a normal charge level above 14.0V.
