Why the MiFi2200 disconnects users mid-session on a full charge
The MiFi2200 draws power from two sources simultaneously — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio. When all five client slots are active and the cellular signal is weak, combined current draw spikes well above the average load. An aged or faulty cell can't sustain the voltage under that spike, and the BMS cuts output to protect the cell. The device reboots, dropping all connected clients even though the charge indicator showed near-full. A fresh cell with intact capacity handles the surge without the voltage dip that triggers the cutoff.
MiFi2200 won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage — the MiFi2200 draws a small standby current even when powered off, accelerating the drain. If the cell drops below approximately 3.0V, the device's boot sequence won't initiate because the BMS blocks startup below minimum safe voltage. Connect the hotspot to its charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button — this allows the charger to bring the cell above the 3.0V boot threshold. If the charge indicator doesn't light within five minutes of connecting, the cell has likely dropped into deep discharge and will need a longer recovery charge before the BMS re-enables output.
