This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the NUK ECO Control Audio 500 and ECO Control Audio 530D+ parent units. It fits the portable handset that parents carry around the home while the base unit stays in the nursery. Capacity is 1200mAh (4.44Wh), matching the OEM specification.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge and discharge cycles on the parent unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the battery, reached full charge voltage at 4.2V, and held the radio and speaker circuits live without triggering a protection cutoff.
- Re-pair after power loss: After fitting a new battery, the parent unit will have lost all power. Baby monitor handsets store their wireless link in volatile memory — when that power drops to zero, the pairing clears. Initiate a fresh pairing between the parent unit and the nursery base unit before expecting audio transmission.
Why the ECO Control Audio 500 parent unit loses range after a battery swap
The 500's radio transmitter draws more current during signal negotiation than during idle monitoring. If the new battery is not fully charged before first use, the cell voltage sags under that load, and the radio steps down its output power to stay within the BMS protection window. This produces noticeably reduced range — not a fault with the battery or the unit. Charge the parent unit to 4.2V on the dock before carrying it away from the base station.
Parent unit showing full charge but dying within hours overnight
This happens when the original battery has aged past the point where its internal resistance allows a meaningful charge cycle — the unit reports full because voltage looks correct at rest, but capacity is gone. A replacement cell at 1200mAh restores true charge capacity. Once fitted, enable the screen timeout in the parent unit's display settings — leaving the backlit screen active overnight is a sustained draw that will shorten any cell's useful charge cycle.
