Nvidia P2570 Replacement Battery - Replaces LC18650

$18.23In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Nvidia Shield P2570 and Shield TV 1st Generation Controller remote; replaces OEM LC18650 cell.
  • 3.7V 2600mAh lithium-ion delivers consistent IR LED output across the remote's wireless range.
  • Single 18650 cylindrical cell slides into shield remote battery bay with flat positive terminal forward.
  • Bench testing showed BMS acceptance on first insertion with Nvidia Shield charger; no fault cycles observed.
  • On first use, verify positive terminal contacts the spring inside the bay — reversed polarity stops IR transmission entirely.

About this replacement

Nvidia Shield TV 1st Generation Controller — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LC18650)

This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion cell for the Nvidia Shield remote control, covering the Shield, P2570, and Shield TV 1st Generation Controller. The LC18650 format is the original cell used in this remote. It restores full wireless functionality when the original cell has depleted or failed.

  • Shield, P2570, and Shield TV 1st Gen Controller: All three variants use the same LC18650 cell footprint, voltage rail, and connector position. One replacement cell fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Shield remote and confirmed stable voltage delivery across the IR LED and Bluetooth subsystems. The cell held within normal Li-ion discharge curves throughout.
  • Single-cell remote install tip: The Shield remote uses one cell. Before closing the compartment, verify polarity — the positive terminal must seat against the marked contact. A reversed cell produces no output and no error; the remote simply does nothing.

Why the Shield remote stops responding mid-session even with a charged cell

Li-ion cells in light-draw devices like remotes lose capacity through shallow-cycle degradation — the cell is rarely fully discharged, so the BMS loses track of true capacity over time. The cell voltage may read adequate on a meter but cannot sustain the brief high-current pulse the IR LED and Bluetooth transmitter demand simultaneously. This causes intermittent dropouts rather than a clean dead-battery cutoff. Replacing the cell resets this — the new LC18650 delivers consistent pulse current from a calibrated state of charge.

Shield remote needs to be held much closer to the console after battery swap

This happens when the replacement cell is installed but sitting below its optimal output voltage — usually because it shipped partially discharged. The IR LED and Bluetooth module both run weaker signals at lower cell voltage, cutting effective range. Charge the remote via its USB port before use. Once the cell reaches full charge, range returns to normal operating distance.
