Olympus Stylus Verve Digital S — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li-30B)
This 3.7V, 650mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM Li-30B battery in the Olympus Stylus Verve Digital S and closely related compact cameras. It restores full imaging function — shutter, LCD, flash capacitor charging, and image write cycles — after the original cell degrades. Voltage and physical dimensions match the OEM spec: 33.85 × 26.75 × 8.35mm.

- First-use charge cycle: Insert the cell and charge it fully through the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. Some Olympus compact BMS systems need one complete charge cycle from within the camera to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator accurately.
Flash recycling slowing down mid-shoot on a fresh Li-30B cell
The Stylus Verve's flash capacitor pulls a sharp recharge current spike after every fired shot. As cell voltage sags — even on a cell that shows charge remaining — the capacitor takes longer to reach firing voltage. This appears as increasing lag between shots, not as a dead-battery warning. If you see it early in a session, the cell may not have completed its first full charge cycle. Charge fully via the camera body and repeat the test.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Stylus Verve display
The OEM indicator maps voltage thresholds to fixed display steps. A new replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve to the aged original — the camera reads a voltage midpoint and snaps the indicator to the nearest programmed step, which can look like the percentage is jumping rather than declining smoothly. This is a display mapping issue, not a cell fault. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will track the new cell's curve more closely.
