Omron HBP-1300 / HBP-1320 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BAT-2000)
This is a 3.6V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Omron HBP-1300 and HBP-1320 professional upper arm blood pressure monitors. It replaces OEM part numbers BAT-2000 and HXA-BAT-2000. Install this when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the device reports a persistent low-battery fault.
- HBP-1300 and HBP-1320 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers the full HBP-13xx series without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the HBP-1300's charge-discharge routine and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell after one complete cycle. Charge acceptance was normal and the device cleared its low-battery flag at full charge.
- Power-on self-test after swap: After fitting this cell, let the monitor complete its full startup self-test without interruption. The HBP-1300 runs a BMS verification sequence at power-on — cutting the sequence short triggers a false battery fault that sticks until the device reboots cleanly from a fully charged state.
Why the HBP-1300 shows low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The HBP-1300's charge controller was calibrated to the OEM cell's internal resistance profile. A new replacement cell has a slightly different impedance signature on the first few cycles, which the BMS interprets as insufficient charge. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the BMS applying a conservative threshold against an uncalibrated pack. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle and the BMS recalibrates its reference point. After that cycle, the low-battery alarm clears at the correct voltage.
Device will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and the HBP-1300's BMS has a minimum recovery threshold around 3.0V. If the cell dropped below that threshold in the warehouse or in transit, the BMS blocks startup entirely as a protection measure. Connect the device to its charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — this brings the cell above the BMS recovery floor. If the monitor still does not start, leave it on charge for a full cycle and then press the power button again.
