About this replacement
Oppo A57 5G — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP915)
The BLP915 is a 3.87V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the Oppo A57 5G, A57 5G 2022, and PFTM20 variants. It replaces the original battery when capacity has dropped or the cell no longer holds a charge. Rated at 18.96Wh, it restores power to the display, processor, and 5G modem stack.
- A57 5G, A57 5G 2022, and PFTM20 fitment: All three share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full platform without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the BLP915 through charge and discharge on a live A57 5G unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases correctly.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging begins pushing current into an uncalibrated register.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after replacing the BLP915
A fresh Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage curve near the bottom of its charge window than an aged cell. The A57 5G's fuel gauge IC is still running the old cell's calibration table, so it misreads remaining capacity. When the 5G modem or display pulls a current spike, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS has registered low battery — the phone shuts off without warning. Run one complete discharge to near shutdown, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the early shutdowns stop.
USB-PD or VOOC fast charge not triggering on the first cycle
Oppo's proprietary fast charge protocol requires a BMS handshake before the adapter steps up current. On a new, unconditioned cell, the BMS may respond conservatively and keep the charge path in standard 5V mode for the first cycle. This is normal behaviour — the BMS is not defective. Plug in using the original Oppo cable and adapter, let the first charge complete fully without interruption, and fast charging will activate from the second cycle onward once the BMS registers a full initialisation event.
