Oppo A83 Replacement Battery - Replaces BLP649

$21.32In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Oppo A83, A83t, and dual SIM variants; replaces OEM battery BLP649.
  • Delivers 3.85V and 3100mAh capacity; supplies stable voltage to processor, modem, and display during normal smartphone operation.
  • Connector seats flush into the device slot with no locking tab; orientation matches original BLP649 footprint exactly.
  • We bench-tested this Li-Polymer cell against the A83 fuel gauge IC; BMS accepted charge without early cutoff and voltage held clean under modem load.
  • On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled — this lets the coulomb counter recalibrate to the new cell's discharge curve.

About this replacement

Oppo A83 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP649)

This is a 3.85V, 3100mAh (11.94Wh) Li-Polymer cell that replaces part number BLP649 in the Oppo A83 smartphone. It fits the A83, A83t, A83 2018 Dual SIM, and A83 2018 Dual SIM TD-LTE. Install it when the original cell no longer holds adequate charge through a normal day of use.

  • A83 series compatibility: The A83, A83t, and 2018 Dual SIM variants all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BLP649 part number — the BMS handshake protocol is identical across these models, so one cell covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an A83 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC reached termination voltage cleanly at 4.35V with no thermal trip.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle on standard 5V charging. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the A83 after a cell swap

The A83 fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old degraded cell in its coulomb counter. When voltage drops under modem or screen load, the new cell hits a steeper voltage cliff than the IC expects, triggering an emergency cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. This is a calibration mismatch — not a faulty cell. One complete discharge cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge without interruption, resets the counter to the new cell's actual curve.

USB fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

On the first charge after a cell swap, the A83 charge IC may stay in trickle or standard mode rather than engaging Oppo's VOOC fast-charge handshake. This happens because the BMS flags the new cell as unknown until it completes one full charge cycle and logs a baseline capacity reading. Let the phone charge fully on standard current first — do not interrupt it. After that initial cycle, fast charging re-engages automatically on subsequent charges without any settings change.
