About this replacement
Oppo Find 5 / X909 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP539)
This is a 3.8V, 2500mAh (9.5Wh) lithium-polymer cell built to the BLP539 specification. It fits the Oppo Find 5, X909, and X909t smartphones. If your original battery swells, drains rapidly, or the phone shuts off before reaching zero percent, this cell replaces the failed unit directly.
- Find 5, X909, and X909t compatibility: All three variants share the same battery bay dimensions (74.11 × 55.00 × 4.10mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full model range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Oppo charge IC and confirmed the BMS handshake completes on first connection. Charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle from full to empty and back. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Find 5 after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff — typically around 3.5V under screen or modem load — before the OS registers low battery. The phone interprets this as a hardware fault and cuts power. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and resolves the premature shutdown in most cases.
Find 5 not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the BLP539 dropped below 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks all charge current as a safety measure. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC delivers a low-current trickle that brings the cell above the 2.5V threshold, at which point the BMS resets and normal charging resumes.
