Oppo U701 / R817 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BLP519)
The BLP519 is a 3.7V, 1750mAh lithium-ion cell that fits the Oppo U701, U701T, R817, R817T, and compatible variants in this series. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same charge IC the factory cell used. Voltage and capacity match the stock specification exactly.
- U701 and R817 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake — all verified against the BLP519 footprint. The 56.95 × 52.95 × 5.20mm cell dimensions clear the chassis without pressure on the mid-frame.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the U701 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the charge IC held the correct 4.2V termination voltage across multiple cycles.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings early on.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the U701 after a cell swap
The U701's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with a low-charge warning, it triggers shutdown — even though the cell still has usable capacity. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled lets the coulomb counter reset against the new cell's actual voltage floor. After that cycle, the shutdown threshold aligns to the correct state of charge.
Phone not powering on after the BLP519 sat in storage
If the replacement cell was stored discharged for an extended period, the BMS may have locked the cell out below 2.5V per cell — a protection state that blocks normal boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the charging indicator does not appear within 45 minutes, check that the connector is fully seated at both the cell tab and the board socket.
